Our organizing belief is simple: only through human rights, democratic elections, and the rule of law can the dignity and liberty of the Khmer people be restored. As an apolitical coalition, we create a space where everyone– regardless of background, ethnicity or location– can connect to facilitate the democratic development of our homeland.
our story
The wounds of the last century cannot heal while the Cambodian people remain disempowered. It’s from this understanding that we formed the Khmer Movement for Democracy: an inclusive, non-violent global coalition of people who gather strength from the belief that Cambodia is truly ready to chart its own path towards a more democratic future.
As a movement we wholeheartedly believe that positive change is possible—but only if unity comes first. The power to choose tomorrow’s leaders must rest firmly in the hands of Cambodia’s people.
