The Khmer Movement for Democracy (KMD) extends its deepest thanks to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and US President Donald Trump for the part they have played in bringing about a ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand.
President Trump’s initiative in demanding a ceasefire had an immediate effect on those who had chosen the path of violence. Malaysia, as chair of ASEAN, has shown that the organization is capable of effective intervention in complex disputes between members.
We urge the US, Malaysia and ASEAN as a whole to maintain their attention to the dispute, which, despite the ceasefire, remains a dangerous flashpoint.
We call on ASEAN to send independent observers to verify that the ceasefire is being observed. Breaches of the ceasefire have already been reported, and an absence of verified independent information creates opportunities for dangerous claims and counter-claims.
The conflict is estimated to have displaced about 300,000 people on both sides of the border. We call on ASEAN to send teams to assess their humanitarian needs and to assist them in returning home.
Cambodians around the world want peace, more than anything, for our country. The conflict has shown how fragile peace can be. We urge the protection and nurturing of peace as the alternative is unthinkable.
ចលនាខ្មែរដើម្បីប្រជាធិបតេយ្យ (KMD) សូមថ្លែងអំណរគុណយ៉ាងជ្រាលជ្រៅបំផុតចំពោះ លោក នាយករដ្ឋមន្រ្តីម៉ាឡេស៊ី Anwar Ibrahim និងលោកប្រធានាធិបតីសហរដ្ឋអាម៉េរិក Donald Trump សម្រាប់តួនាទីរបស់លោកទាំងពីរក្នុងការនាំឲ្យមានបទឈប់បាញ់មួយរវាងកម្ពុជា និងថៃ។ គំនិតផ្តួច ផ្តើមរបស់ប្រធានាធិបតី Trumpក្នុងការទាមទារឲ្យមានបទឈប់បាញ់នេះបានជះឥទ្ធិពលភ្លាមៗទៅ លើជនដែលបានជ្រើសរើសមធ្យោបាយតាមបែបហិង្សា។ ក្នុងនាមជាប្រធានអាស៊ាន ប្រទេសម៉ាឡេស៊ី បានបង្ហាញថា អង្គការនេះមានសមត្ថភាពធ្វើអន្តរាគមន៍ប្រកបដោយប្រសិទ្ធភាពក្នុងការដោះស្រាយជម្លោះក្នុងចំណោមរដ្ឋសមាជិក។
យើងសូមស្នើឱ្យសហរដ្ឋអាម៉េរិក ម៉ាឡេស៊ី និងអាស៊ានទាំងមូល ផ្ដោតការយកចិត្តទុកដាក់ក្នុង ការដោះស្រាយជម្លោះនេះ ទោះបីជាមានបទឈប់បាញ់ក្ដី ក៏នៅតែស្ថិតក្នុងចំណុចគ្រោះថ្នាក់នៅ ឡើយ។
យើងសូមអំពាវនាវឲ្យអាស៊ានបញ្ជូនអ្នកសង្កេតការណ៍ឯករាជ្យមកផ្ទៀងផ្ទាត់ថា បទឈប់បាញ់គ្នានេះត្រូវបាននិងកំពុងអនុវត្ត។ ការរំលោភលើបទឈប់បាញ់ត្រូវបានរាយការណ៍ថា បានកើតឡើង ហើយកង្វះព័ត៌មានឯករាជ្យដែលអាចយកមកផ្ទៀងផ្ទាត់បាន ហុចឱកាសសម្រាប់ការបង្កើតលេសតវ៉ា និងលេសប្រឆាំងដ៏គ្រោះថ្នាក់។ តាមការប៉ាន់ស្មាន ជម្លោះនេះបានធ្វើឲ្យមានជនភៀសសឹកប្រមាណ៣០ម៉ឺននាក់នៅតាមតំបន់ក្បែរព្រំដែនទាំងសងខាង។ យើងសូមអំពាវនាវឱ្យអាស៊ានបញ្ជូនក្រុមវាយ តម្លៃតម្រូវការជំនួយមនុស្សធម៌របស់ជនភៀសសឹក និងជួយជនភៀសសឹកទាំងនោះក្នុងការវិលត្រឡប់ ទៅលំនៅដ្ឋានរបស់ខ្លួនវិញ។
ប្រជាពលរដ្ឋខ្មែរជុំវិញពិភពលោកចង់បានសន្តិភាពសម្រាប់ប្រទេសជាតិរបស់ខ្លួនលើសពីអ្វីៗ ទាំងអស់។ ជម្លោះនេះបានបង្ហាញអំពីភាពផុយស្រួយនៃសន្តិភាព។ យើងសូមជំរុញឱ្យមានកិច្ចការពារ និងថែរក្សាសន្តិភាពដែលជាជម្រើសដ៏មានតម្លៃមិនអាចកាត់ថ្លៃបាន។
